Arabian MEP Exhibition plans regional expansion
The fourth edition of the Arabian MEP exhibition in Bahrain promises to showcase the latest products and services in the MEP field.
The three-day Arabian MEP Exhibition and Conference 2015 will, for the first time, take up two halls at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Manama. Running from 6-8 April, the fourth edition of the show will cover 20,000m² and its organiser, Exposure Media, hopes it will attract more than 10,000 visitors from across the GCC.
“Arabian MEP 2015 will showcase innovative mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, refrigeration and automation products and services for the whole Middle East. It will provide a one-stop solution for end users, as the major MEP players converge under one roof to work towards meeting the accelerated demand in the building and industrial segments,” commented Kamlesh Jain, manager – communications and business development for Exposure Media.
“The first exhibition started with around 50 exhibitors and around 3,500 visitors. Last year, the Bahrain show got 7,000 visitors, which was a record number, and then this year, because we are attracting more from outside Bahrain – from Saudi and Qatar and so on – there will be even more.”
In Bahrain, the ongoing growth of the construction industry is driving strong demand for high-quality, cutting-edge MEP services, and the Tamkeen initiative helps to support productivity and growth in this area, according to Jain. The Tamkeen organisation is tasked with furthering economic development in the kingdom as part of Bahrain’s national strategy.
“The government is very positive and projects are coming up all the time,” Jain explained. “It lifts the morale of the country to have people come and participate in events such as this. The support that companies that want to take space and exhibit can get from Tamkeen – which offers to share around 50% of the cost involved in coming to the exhibition – demonstrates that the government is really committed to helping build up business.”
Thanks to rising energy costs and increasingly stringent environmental regulations, green technologies and sustainability will be key trends at this year’s exhibition.
“There will be some innovative new products that will be launched for the first time in the Middle East market – there are some very different, unique, building systems that are going to be introduced, which offer both economical and green benefits,” said Jain.
“There will also be a number of energy-saving solutions on display, and solar energy will also be in the spotlight. Sustainability and green technologies will also be important parts of the conference schedule this year.”
Alongside all the latest products, Arabian MEP will host a comprehensive conference programme, including keynote speeches and presentations, to panel discussions and interactive workshops and seminars. Key industry leaders and high-level decision makers, government officials, policy-makers and researchers will be in attendance.
“It is important to introduce concepts such as green technology and conserving energy in this forum, as these are top priorities right now,” said Jain.
The 2015 conference schedule is designed by industry experts and promises to be packed with exclusive educational content.
As well as vendor presentations and product announcements, there will be sessions on the latest trends in the MEP, HVACR, and also seminars and workshops from industry associations and other groups, addressing current industry initiatives and topics of practical interest.
“The core objective is to create an ideal environment to deliberate, and to disseminate knowledge about MEP products, technological advancements, and world-class services,” explained Jain.
“Our conferences will not only provide a different platform for the global community to come together and share the same vision, but also create community awareness towards saving our Earth.”
