Bahrain’s respect for states’ sovereignties underscored

Geneva, Oct 14 (BNA) – Shura Council member, Jameela Salman, has underlined Bahrain’s respect for human rights and its continuing endeavor to develop its legal system, noting Bahrain’s external policy based on the respect for other states’ sovereignties and non-interference in their internal affairs.
This came during her participation in the Third Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights on the sidelines of the 131st session of Inter-Parliamentary Union’s (IPU), being held in Geneva on 12-16 October, on defining the resolution of international law related to national sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of states and human rights.

She added that regional and foreign countries are still interfering in Bahrain’s internal affairs which affect its sovereignty and economy and threaten national fabric.
