Manama, Aug.14 (BNA): The security and stability of Bahrain are red lines not to be crossed, said Shura Council member Sawsan Taqawi.

She urged a firm stance to thwart the exploitation of citizens so as to spark chaos and violence in their own homeland with the intent of serving external agendas which are laid bare.

She commended the efforts of the Interior Ministry which succeeded in tracking down the perpetrators of the terrorist attack which targeted a police patrol in Sitra. Head of the Shura Council Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, Taqawi stressed the need to confront all the parties implicated in masterminding and funding the terrorist attacks.

“The suspects’ confessions confirm the implication of the secret Iranian hands of the Revolutionary Guard in the attempts to subvert Bahrain’s security”, she said. In a statement today, she called for deterrent sentences to be handed to the perpetrators of the cowardly terrorist act, which left two on-duty policemen dead and several others wounded. She paid tribute to the security forces for their dedicated efforts and alertness, which enabled them to foil terrorist attacks and arrest the perpetrators.
