MAN Truck Bus has received an order for 127 buses from the Ministry of Transportation in Bahrain.
The deal involves the provision of 88 midi-buses and 39 MAN Lion’s City vehicles.
The buses, which are already in production, are to be used for city transportation and airport transfers, according to a report from TradeArabia.com.
“The MAN Lion’s City buses, which will be utilised in Bahrain, will use lightweight materials and innovative body construction to ensure high standards in quality,” said Pedro Teixeira, MAN’s area bus sales manager for the Middle East.
“Functionality, ergonomics, large interior space, simple maintenance, and high safety standards are the key features of the buses, which [we] expect to have a lifetime of over 25 years,” he added.
The German manufacturer agreed the governmental deal in conjunction with its authorised Bahraini distributor, AMA Motors.
“[AMA Motors will] carry out the maintenance of the vehicles as a service partner,” said Simon Keen, the distributor’s general manager.
“We are proud to be participating in this ambitious initiative to deliver a world-class public transport service for Bahrain,” he concluded.
