CHEYENNE, Wyoming — Sen. John Barrasso says he spent the Independence Day weekend visiting with Wyoming National Guard troops serving in Bahrain.
More than 160 Wyoming Army National Guard soldiers are deployed in Bahrain right now. Barrasso visited with members of the Laramie-based 133rd Engineering Company.
The 133rd began a nine-month deployment to Bahrain in May. The 133rd is stationed at Isa Air Base in Bahrain and is responsible for all security at that base.
Barrasso said Monday he shared lunch with service members and was briefed by military officials on operations in the Middle East.
