BAHRAIN national under-17 team left for Dubai yesterday to compete in the 15th GCC Basketball Championship to be held from Friday to August 13 at Al Nasr Club Sports Hall.
The delegation will be headed by head of national teams committee Ali Al Khaja and includes Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) treasurer Ghanim Al Sanad (manager), Moosa Jaffar (administrator), Aaron Mitchell (head coach), Ahmed Qaheri and Ali Kuwayed (assistant coaches) and Marco Nikolic (physiotherapist).
The 12 players in the team are Hussain Ali Hajji, Zaid Ali Al Tawwash, Abdulla Moharam Qaheri, Mohammed Abdulhadi Busafwan, Mohammed Abdulla Ibrahim, Ali Al Madeh, Hussain Ali Busafwan, Noman Ahmed Khan, Mohammed Yousif Ghazwan, Kareem Mohammed, Mohammed Jassim Hussain and Hussain Nader Ghuloom.
Al Khaja said he was confident of his team doing well adding that he expected stiff challenge from the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the national team had a training camp in Serbia where they played five friendly matches, winning four of them.
