Manama, Dec. 21. (BNA) – Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Dr. Essam Abdulla Fakhro has affirmed BCCI’s support for all initiatives aiming to empower Bahraini women economically and increase their contributions to the national economy.

This came as a BCCI delegation visited the headquarters of the Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPWC) where it was welcomed by its President Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa and members and officials.

Dr. Fakhro lauded the effective and increasing role played by BPWC, calling on public and private sector sides to back the club’s efforts and projects aiming to embrace and support low-income citizens and productive families seeking to launch their own projects.

He said BCCI welcomed cooperation with the club through its centre for supporting small and medium enterprises so as to shed light on the entrepreneurial role of businesswomen, lauding the effective participation of Bahraini businesswomen in international gatherings, which, he added, reflected Bahrain women’s success in reaching prestigious business posts.

He pledged BCCI’s keenness to involve Businesswomen in all its local and regional events.

He added that BCCI and the private sector valued highly the initiative to establish the club aiming to support Bahraini women, noting that Bahraini women have proved their merit.

He asserted that Bahraini women had established themselves as partners in building their society and were playing a more effective role in the kingdom’s development march during HM the King’s prosperous era, in line with the wise leadership’s belief in women’s pivotal role in the comprehensive political, economic, social and cultural development programmes, being essential partners for developing and advancing the Bahraini society.

Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa expressed pride in BCCI’s effective efforts to enhance cooperation with Bahraini clubs, adding that the Business and Professional Women’s Club was established to promote the entrepreneurship culture.

BCCI Chairman toured the club facilities and was informed about its activities and services.
