Manama, May 17 (BNA): The volume of trade exchanges between Bahrain and Italy topped $39.4 million, according to external commerce indicators released by the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO). Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Khalid Abdulrahman Almoayyed cited the updated figures, hailing solid economic and trade relations bonding Bahrain and Italy.
Receiving Italian Ambassador to Bahrain Alberto Vecchi at Beit Al-Tejjar, he highlighted solid diplomatic relations and steadily-growing trade exchanges which boosted development projects in the Kingdom. Almoayyed underlined the importance of exchanging trade visits so as to encourage businessmen and representatives of large companies to explore investment opportunities.
He stressed the chamber’s keenness on expanding the volume of trade exchanges, setting up joint ventures and exchanging visits, calling for the joint business council to be activated so as to explore investment opportunities. Vecchi stressed the embassy’s readiness to step up coordination between Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Association of Italian Chambers of Commerce. He hailed Bahrain’s business-friendly environment and legal infrastructure which encourage investments, describing the Kingdom as the gateway of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets.
