BCCI condemns terror blast

Manama, March 3 (BNA) The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) strongly condemned the terror blast which left three on-duty policemen dead in Daih, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs of duty.

In a statement today, it warned against the dangerous security escalation on the cohesion of Bahraini society, civil peace and social security. It backed all legal steps and measures undertaken by the competent security agencies to deter such acts and hold their perpetrators so as to avert any recurrence.

It urged all legal measures to be enforced on anyone who attacks the security forces, attempts to destablise Bahrain and drags youngsters into committing acts of violence which left several casualties in past days.

The BCCI statement held accountable the parties which are aiding and abetting such acts, stressing the need to confront the advocates of violence who condone attacks on the security forces, fuel sectarian strife, endanger national unity and safety and the security of the people of Bahrain.

The Chamber voiced its confidence in the legal steps and measures which will be enforced by the Government of Bahrain to deter terrorist acts and maintain Bahrain’s security and stability.

“Enforcing the law on everyone without exception is the only viable way to deter any attempt to subvert national security and stability”, the chamber said. In the statement, the Chamber warned against the dangerous escalation and change of terror tactics, urging all segments of Bahraini society to voice a strong stance for the scourge of terror to be confronted.

The statement reiterated heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, backing all the measures which will be taken by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to maintain security and stability, protect hard-won achievements and protect national unity and social cohesion.

The BCCI statement voiced full support for the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, as well as His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

It paid tribute to the Interior Ministry and the security forces, led by Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa for their unwavering efforts to combat terrorist acts, maintain order and protect the homeland and citizens.
