Manama, Feb. 24. (BNA) – Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Dr. Esam Abdulla Fakhro has praised the solid deep-rooted Bahraini-Turkish relations and expressed the Bahraini private sector’s desire to develop bilateral ties in order to meet the expectations of the two friendly peoples, calling for the need to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in both countries.
The stances were voiced during the meeting hosted today by Beit Al Tejjar between BCCI and a Turkish economic delegation, led by Samed Ercoskun, in the presence of the members of BCCI’s Board of Directors Jawad Alhawaj and Kadhem Al Saeed, Treasurer and Acting CEO Othman Mohammed Sharif Al Rayes and other officials representing both sides.
During the meeting, BCCI Chairman welcomed the Turkish delegation’s visit, asserting BCCI’s interest to upgrade bilateral relations through activating the role the private sector in both countries and revitalizing joint investments.
He also pointed out that all obstacles should be removed in order to enhance bilateral trade exchange, calling for the need to encourage businessmen and representatives of various trade and industrial sectors to pay reciprocal visits in order to be updated on each country’s investment opportunities.
He also said that BCCI is preparing to host the Turkish-GCC Forum by the end of 2013, under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, noting that preliminary information indicate that the Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan may lead his country’s delegation to the event.
On their part, members of the Turkish delegation expressed their country’s desire to consolidate and strengthen economic relations with the kingdom, adding that they are visiting Bahrain to explore the investment opportunities between the two countries.
They also invited the trade sector in Bahrain to invest in the 1000-hectar tourist project to be held in Bursa city.
They also welcomed enhancing cooperation between BCCI and commerce chambers in Turkey in order to achieve joint economic interests, highlighting the importance of exchanging visits between trade delegations.
The Head of Turkish delegation hailed BCCI Chairman’s support for bolstering Bahraini-Turkish relations.
He also invited the trade community in the kingdom to take part in the annual Economic Summit to be hosted by the city of Bursa on March 29th and 30th, 2013.
At the end of the meeting, BCCI Chairman expressed hope that security and stability prevail all over the world, stressing that political stability is a major catalyst for economic and investment development.
