BJA chairman highlights training plan

Manama, Sept. 7 (BNA): Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA)’s chairman Monis Mahmoud Al Mardi said the association is consolidating its training plan for media professionals through specialized workshops and lectures for journalists from Bahrain and the region.

Al Mardi was speaking to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) recently upon the conclusion of a training workshop presented by BNA editor Nabeelah Suleiman themed “Basics of Press Story” in the Association’s building in Juffair.

The training programme aims to boost journalistic efficacies and hone skills in audio-visual and printed media. Nabeelah introduced the key components of the press story, how to translate events into news, examples of practical comparison between news and events, and proper journalistic writing techniques.

The BJA attracts outstanding coaching expertise in line with the directives BNA General Director Mohannad Sulaiman who has always been keen on enhancing the efficiency and experience of BNA staff and encouraging them to cooperate with the press and media bodies to develop the proficiency of the entire media family.

The participants thanked Al Mardi for the BJA’s invitation to journalists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who attended this workshop. The workshop provided invaluable journalistic input. The participants requested more of such practical quality workshops to generalize the benefit to the region’s media members.

The workshop was attended by 30 media personnel from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
