Manama, June. 6. (BNA) – The Bahraini Journalists Association (BJA) will organise, under the patronage of the State Minister for Information Affairs and the Government’s Official Spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab, a workshop entitled “Ways to promote press freedoms in the Arab world”, with the participation of the representatives of the Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) and the Arab journalists unions on June 8-9.
The Chairman of the Liberties Committee at BJA Mohammed Ismail expressed delight over holding the workshop in Bahrain, noting that BJA’s participation is a positive initiative reflecting Bahrain’s openness in protecting press freedom.
He added that several topics will be tackled in every working paper in order to shed light on the difficulties journalists face, expressing hope that the workshop will achieve its goal.
This workshop is one of BJA’s series of activities that defend journalism’s liberties and monitor the difficulties that hinder their effectiveness on the local, Arab and international fields.
