PRESIDENT of the Confederal Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left in the European parliament Gabriele Zimmer underlined the importance of bolstering parliamentary relations and being well informed about the latest developments in Bahrain.

This came as a Bahraini delegation led by parliament human rights committee deputy chairman Abdulla bin Huwail visited the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels yesterday.

He said the group had expressed keenness to visit the kingdom and provide necessary support to boost parliamentary action – stressing the need to address challenges internally, without any foreign influence.

Mr Huwail said Bahrain’s parliament welcomes visits of any European parliamentary delegation or group to Bahrain to see facts on the ground in order to project the real image of the kingdom to the world, away from misleading and erroneous reports.

The delegation plans to tour other European capitals and meet officials to brief them about Bahrain’s developments, reforms and the National Dialogue.
