Distributor Brightstar has announced a major expansion of its mobile accessories operation in GCC countries in the Middle East. Brightstar will now offer the latest smartphone accessories, enhanced products and services to channel partners in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. Brightstar is a Gold Sponsor at this month’s DISTREE Middle East event, which takes place in Abu Dhabi from 12th to 14th May.

Ela Cubukcu, Brightstar’s regional managing director for Turkey, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), said: “People in the GCC countries are passionate about their connected lifestyles, and the region is already a global leader in smartphones adoption and mobile services. We’re leveraging Brightstar’s global expertise, deep partnerships and financial capability to help drive accessories industry growth in the region.”

Brightstar will distribute top-tier global consumer electronic brands such as Adopted, Bang Olufsen, BoomCloud 360, Caden, CasePower, Celly, CulCharge, iBolt, Jabra, Jays, Key, Liquipel and SteelSeries across the GCC. Brightstar is distributing in the region through its subsidiary Brightstar FZE

The distributor will offer a wide range lifestyle mobile accessories, power solutions, audio accessories and protection technology for smartphones to retailers and wireless operators throughout the region.

Cubukcu added: “We are doing more than distributing products. We are helping to change the perspective of selling accessories and helping our customers prepare for the ongoing expansion of the industry. As consumers rely on smartphones for almost everything, the need is even greater to protect the device and its content, and to ensure the value for future trade-in. Consumers are also increasingly wanting ‘smart accessories’ that enrich the mobile experience.”

Brightstar also plans to expand the innovative services tailored to its retail, operator and manufacturing customers in the accessories market in areas such as training, seeding, promotion, analytics, and vendor managed inventory, which all make it easier for customers to provide the best mobile accessories experience to consumers.

Brightstar’s worldwide mobile accessories business is now worth more than US$1 billion per annum, according to the distributor. The company is also the world’s number one distributor of devices and a leader in diversified services for the wireless industry.

Retailers and e-tailers attending DISTREE Middle East can request one-on-one meetings with the Brightstar team through their personal web account for the event.
