BYS Chairman calls on Bahraini youth to participate in upcoming elections

Manama, Oct 5 (BNA) – Bahrain Youth Society (BYS) Chairman, Ali Sharafi, called on Bahraini youth to participate in the upcoming elections and to cast their ballots to the competent candidates who are capable of materializing their aspirations.

He said the Royal political reform project, which was launched since HM the King’s accession to the throne, had made the opportunity available to the Bahraini youth to take part in Bahrain’s 2002 elections.

He added the BYS, after the parliamentary and municipal elections, will cooperate with official channels to follow up topics related to the youth and their aspirations, among of them the youth’s request to reduce the voting age from 20 to 18 years, which is supported by HM the King, as announced by President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It will contribute to broadening the Bahraini youth’s political participation in 2018.

The BYS was established in June 2004 and aims to promote development process, in line with the Royal reforms, in addition to launching programs that serve the nation and the Bahraini youth aspirations.
