Manama, Aug. 29. (BNA) – Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa has congratulated the wise leadership, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Bahrain’s winning of the trophies of the fifth Huawei GCC Under-23 Championship and the 3rd GCC Under-15 Basketball Championship.
The Governor lauded HM the King’s directives to have the Bahrain Olympic Team under the umbrella of the National Guard and the Bahrain Football Association, adding that the Royal gesture will benefit the team, the future asset of Bahrain football.

He asserted that HM the King’s reception of the members of the team at the Safriya Palace yesterday was a proof of HM’s great support for the Bahrain sports movement.

Shaikh Hesham also congratulated the Presidents of the Bahrain Football Association, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Bahrain Basketball Association, MP Adel Al-Asoomi.

He wished Bahraini athletes further success in the coming regional and international competitions.
