Manama, Bahrain – 13 May 2014 – The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announces that the monthly issue of the short-term Islamic leasing bonds, Sukuk Al-Ijara, has been oversubscribed by 378%.

Subscriptions worth BD75.6 million were received for the BD20 million issue, which carries a maturity of 182 days.

The expected return on the issue, which begins on 15 May 2014 and matures on 13 November 2014, is 0.90 % equivalent to 0.90% for the previous issue on 17 April 2014.

The Sukuk Al-Ijara are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This is issue No.105 (BH0007819129) of the short-term Sukuk Al-Ijara series.
