Challenge Bahrain triathlon championship next December

Manama, Sept. 15 (BNA)– In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain is set to host “Challenge Bahrain” international triathlon championship on December 6 with the participation of many international teams.

Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa made the announcement urging the committees in charge to double efforts and work with the one-team spirit to ensure success of the event which will turn Bahrain into a hub for the triathlon sport in the Middle East. He said holding the championship in Bahrain is an assertion of the distinguished status of Bahrain as a major host of international sporting events.

Shaikh Nasser also pointed out that the Bahraini team took part in many championships, the most recent one was in Budapest, Hungary, and took advantage of those functions in a positive way to promote “Challenge Bahrain” and project the kingdom’s civilisational image and comprehensive development. He paid tribute to HM the King for his unflinching support to the Supreme Organising Committee and constant follow-up on the preparations for the championship which will be co-organised by Nasser bin Hamad Foundation (NBHF) and Challenge International Organisation.
