A thief has been sentenced to three years in prison in connection with a string of robberies – all thanks to cigarette butts, said a report.

A cigarette butt left on the rooftop of a building in Salmabad led policemen to the convict who has a history of robberies, reported our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.

The thief broke into four buildings in Salmabad and stole movables, including water pipes and aluminium doors and windows.

Forensic experts examined saliva on the cigarette butt and identified the convict.-TradeArabia News Service
