Citi names Usman Ahmed as CEO of Citi Bahrain and Citi Islamic Investment Bank

In this role, Usman will oversee Citi’s operations in Bahrain as well as lead Citi’s effort to provide value added Islamic Banking products and services to its clients across the globe. Citi’s presence in Bahrain spans across Corporate and Investment Banking, Consumer Banking and Islamic Banking.

Prior to this assignment, Usman was based in Manila as the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for Citi Philippines and the Head of Islamic Banking for the Asia Pacific region. In the past, Usman has also assumed various other responsibilities in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, having worked with Citi in Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Bahrain and Pakistan.

We have a very strong franchise in Bahrain and will continue to provide the highest standards of products and services to our clients, while fulfilling our role as an active member of the Bahraini banking community,” commented Usman.
