MANAMA: News of arrival of a UN technical expert team from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to Bahrain has struck a chord of loyalty in citizens.
This was evident from social networking sites like Twitter, on which they started a campaign in English language, addressed to the accounts of the delegation.
It is aimed at illustrating the reality of acts of sabotage and terrorism that are being committed. The perpetrators are being supported intellectually and physically by specific political blocs and societies that are allegedly seeking democracy and human rights, the campaign said.
Since the campaign took off, dozens of images and video clips of terrorist acts committed on the streets of Bahrain on a daily basis by subversive groups have been uploaded.
They show violations of all internationally recognised human rights principles and norms.
The campaign, which is still ongoing, is meant to uncover the truth and expose allegations and lies promoted by some sectarian parties of human rights violations allegedly committed by security forces.
This spontaneous grass-roots campaign has come in recognition of the importance of bringing to the visiting human rights delegation’s attention, the reality of the situation on the ground.
