CLARKES BAR GOLF

This week we traveled to the wide open spaces of Corvera Golf and Country Club on a warm and sunny morning. We arrived to find the fairways in their usual dry and dusty state and the greens still recovering from their recent hollow tining.
A light breeze developed into at least a 1 club wind as the day wore on but this did not detract from, on the whole, good scoring. A special mention goes to Pat Creegan who despite dislocating her thumb on the 4th hole managed to complete the round after having the thumb reset and came a very creditable third with 38 points.
The rest of the results were:
Nearest the pin on hole 8 was Alan Kirrage Nearest the pin on hole 15 was Colin Capper Nearest the par 4 10th in 2 was Martin Gilligan Longest Drive on hole 14 was John Porter Winner with 39 points on count back was Bernard Ball just holding off the runner up, on better back nine, Frank McCann.
