Committee discusses Olympic team support

A JOINT committee tasked at following up support for Bahrain’s Olympic football team had its second meeting yesterday.
Chaired by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) acting secretary general Abdulrahman Askar, the meeting highlighted several significant points related to Olympic team backing.

This initiative is in compliance with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad, who directed Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to back this young team after having won the fifth GCC Under-23 Championship held in Bahrain.

Bahrain national team head coach Anthony Hudson gave a presentation on his vision for the next stage as well as the goals which they seek to accomplish, noting the present needs of the team in order to achieve best results in all international competitions, including the qualifying campaign for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Also present at the meeting were BOC acting sports affairs executive director Hisham Al Blooshi and Bahrain Football Association acting general secretary Hassan Ismail.
