Manama, Apr. 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, this evening met Philip Hammond MP, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
His Royal Highness praised the long-standing ties between Bahrain and the UK and highlighted the steady growth of bilateral relations, which has led to increased collaboration across a range of areas, including defence, political and economic affairs.
His Royal Highness and the Foreign Secretary discussed Bahrain-UK efforts to achieve shared regional and strategic goals, as well as the ongoing efforts to restore security and stability in Yemen.
For his part, the Foreign Secretary reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Bahrain across a range of issues, and highlighted the importance of building on historic relations between the two countries.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
