Manama, Dec.15 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met Sir Gwynne Jenkins, Deputy Adviser to the United Kingdom National Security Council, at Gudaibiya Palace.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted the deep and historic ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and noted that bilateral cooperation between the two countries continues to grow across many sectors, including military and defence.
His Royal Highness then discussed the rise of violent extremism across the region and stressed that Bahrain remains committed to combatting extremist ideologies and terrorism financing to protect regional stability and security. His Royal Highness added that the international community must continue to coordinate on strategies and tactics in order to stem the tide of extremist groups.
His Royal Highness and Deputy Advisor Jenkins also discussed other issues related to shared strategic goals and interests, including ways to further expand cooperation between the two countries. His Excellency the Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
