Manama, Mar23(BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met Dr. Farhan Nazimi, Director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), at Gudaiybia Palace.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness within the Kingdom, and the role it plays in supporting stability and security amongst communities. His Royal Highness also highlighted academic efforts to showcase Islamic culture across the world.

His Royal Highness went on to praise the role played by the OCIS, highlighting that its efforts help to address cultural misinterpretations that contribute to the spread of theocratic ideologies. In this regard, His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of peaceful dialogue when addressing issues faced by the region and wider world. For his part, Dr. Farhan Nazimi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness for the continuous support OCIS receives from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
