Culture Minister receives a French Delegation from University of Versailles

Manama, April 10th (BNA) –Minister of Culture, Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received in her office today a French delegation from Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University, headed by the university President Jean-Luc Vayssière, and three Directors General, accompanied by the French Ambassador to Bahrain, Christian Testot and the French Cultural Counsellor Cedric Devais.


During the meeting, they discussed developing constructive cooperation Between Kingdom of Bahrain and France, as well as activating the cultural relations, which extended along the history, through French missions who still excavate for monuments, particularly in Bahrain Fort.

Minister of Culture expressed her happiness meeting with the officials from Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University, welcoming the bilateral cooperation to benefit from the university’s experience in the area of management of cultural and heritage sites.

For his part, Jean-Luc Vayssière presented a brief about the university’s activities, particularly the academic and training programmes, the scientific laboratories which are concerned with heritage, monuments and culture. He also highlighted the existing cooperation between University of Versailles and the most important museums in Paris, like the Palace of Versailles, Louvre Museum, and Quai Branly Museum, in addition to the cooperation with other universities and institutes in Bahrain, through Masters in Business Administration at the Arabian Gulf University.
