Manama, June 18th (BNA) – President of Bahrain Customs, Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa praised the fruitful cooperation between the Customs Affairs and the Emirate of Eastern Province, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Customs, and the King Fahd Causeway General Organization with the relevant authorities in the Bahraini side which are represented in King Fahd Causeway Police Directorate, and King Fahd Causeway Passports Division.
The cooperation led to opening of the trucks balance crossing the day before yesterday till 10.00 pm, which raised the number of trucks leaving for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via King Fahd Causeway.
The President of Customs highlighted that the average of the trucks leaving last Monday to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via King Fahd Causeway reached 278 trucks, and were divided into 219 loaded trucks, 41 truck loaded with mail packages, and 18 trucks accompanied with customs officers.
There were no trucks sent back till 10:00 pm, where the number of trucks crossed last Sunday reached 187 loaded trucks, 55 trucks sent back and couldn’t cross, and last Saturday there were 201 loaded trucks, and 90 truck were sent back.
Meanwhile, President of the Customs praised the efforts of the Saudi side which were represented in the Emirate of Eastern Region, the Customs of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the General Organization of King Fahd Causeway, and their facilitation for the process of the trucks crossing, in addition to the close follow up of the Customs’ staff of the Bahraini side represented in Customs Administration of the land border, and the Customs Operations Center.
The President of the Customs wished to have more cooperation and efforts between the relevant parties to alleviate the problem of lining up of trucks in the next days, for it will contribute in developing economy between the two brotherly Kingdoms.
