Gulf Aviation Academy
(GAA), located in Muharraq, played host to a number of visiting delegates representing 13 countries that were in the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the 15th meeting of the ‘Middle East Regional Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Group’. This event, hosted by the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry, attracted Middle East members of the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO
), non-Middle Eastern members, and seven international organizations from the aviation industry.

The visiting delegation toured GAA’s Bahrain Air Traffic Control (ATC) Training Center to learn about the ATC courses offered and see the state-of-the-art training simulator that is used as part of a comprehensive curriculum conforming to
ICAO
standards and recommended practices. The delegation which comprised of Air Traffic Controllers from Egypt, Kenya, Sudan, and more were keen to see how GAA’s diverse aviation training programs could be extended to their countries and increase the number of aviation professionals that the Aviation Industry desperately requires especially in the MENA region.

Gulf Aviation Academy
has launched the Air Traffic Control center in mid-2014 with over twenty five graduating classes and counting. Being the first of its kind in Bahrain, GAA offers a comprehensive program catering to both military and civilian air traffic controllers. The courses are among the most competitive in the region in terms of both quality and cost in comparison to other centers in the region.

The delegation then visited the pilot training section and was impressed with the simulators and extensive list of MENA region clients that GAA has been able to attract since its launch in 2010 at the Bahrain International Air Show.

GAA’s diverse portfolio of flight and ground training–combined with their innovative technology, state-of-the-art facilities, and fully certified and experienced instructors–is designed to enhance and advance any career in the Aviation field. With more than 50 courses to choose from, GAA’s training facility is fully operational around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
