Deputy King receives former Turkish President

Manama, Sept. 14 (BNA): The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today met the former President of Turkey, His Excellency Abdullah Gül, at Gudaibiya Palace.


His Royal Highness stressed the importance of collectively overcoming the challenges currently faced by the region, through strategic partnerships and shared commitments that achieve long-term stability and security.

His Royal Highness further highlighted the importance of combatting the rise of extremist ideologies and theocracies in the region. His Royal Highness emphasised that these ideologies must be confronted and eradicated.

His Royal Highness noted the steady growth of ties between Bahrain and Turkey, which includes various bilateral agreements, and His Royal Highness highlighted the role visits play in further reinforcing bilateral ties.

His Excellency the former President of Turkey expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and welcomed His Royal Highness’ interest and support in further enhancing relations between Bahrain and Turkey.

His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
