Company to showcase range of innovations for downstream needs at Petrotech 2014
MANAMA, BAHRAIN: The Dow Chemical Company will showcase its range of industry-leading solutions serving the downstream value chain, during the Middle East Refining Petrochemicals conference, ME Petrotech 2014, taking place from 18-21 May at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Zuhair Allawi, president of Dow Saudi Arabia and member of the Petrotech executive committee, will be taking part in a panel discussion on Opportunities in Downstream and Energy Development and Services, highlighting Dow’s 117 years of experience in and commitment to the petrochemical industry.
The petrochemicals industry is set to grow faster than other key industries in the Middle East, including oil and gas, according to a recent study by IHS. The increasing role of petrochemicals in the region’s fast growing economy means ongoing investment to cope with demand, furthering local capabilities and creating job opportunities.
“Continued investment in the downstream petrochemical sector will fuel more jobs in the region, create value and sustainable growth ahead of other industries. Furthermore, it adds value to raw materials, drives innovation and enhances economic development,” said Allawi. “Dow has invested significantly in advanced manufacturing in the Middle East in recent years and we will continue to support the drive of local industry and innovation that directly addresses local needs.”
Dow will be showcasing solutions for the refining and petrochemical industries including oil and gas, water and microbial control, at the event, as well as presenting a technical paper on On-Line Removal of Heat Stable Salts in Amine Systems with UCARSEP™ Process Technology. Dow continues to share best practices as part of its commitment towards knowledge sharing and this is the fourth occasion that it participates in Petrotech.
Dow’s solutions will be on display at Stand 901 at the Exhibition Center.
