Dr. Ka’abi: Preserving Coasts Is a Collective Responsibility

Manama, Nov. 17. (BNA) — Bahrain plans to crack down on random reclamation and disposal of waste and debris in coastal areas.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa issued directives in this regard to Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Minister Dr Juma Al Ka’abi.

Municipalities will step up monitoring of public coasts and beachfront areas in their regions and legal action will be taken against violators, Dr Al Ka’abi said, appealing to the citizens to report violations on the ministry’s hotline.

He also stressed the importance of preserving public coasts and beachfront areas for future generations, describing it as a collective responsibility.
