BAHRAIN: In the presence of the UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and King Hamad Bin Eissa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was crowned as the winner of the World Military Endurance Championship (WMEC), which was held in the International Endurance Village in Bahrain on Saturday.
Sheikh Hamdan received the gold medal from Alexander Mario, the representative of The International Military Sports Council (CISM), who congratulated Sheikh Hamdan on this victory.
Forty eight riders from 15 Arab and foreign countries have contested in this championship.
 During the crowning ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed was awarded the International Military Sports Council’s sash in recognition of his support for military sports, especially in Endurace races worldwide and who have achieved good records in this field.

This is the first time Bahrain hosted the event organised by the International Military Sports Council (CISM).
Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) organised this first-of-its-kind global gathering in co-operation with CISM.
A total of representatives of 19 teams, who took part, were present at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir.
Teams from UK, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Uruguay, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Palestine Jordan, Yemen, Morocco and Bahrain participated in the championship.
