East Riffa pip Malkiya

EAST Riffa came back from a goal down to score a 2-1 victory over Malkiya while Riffa defeated Al Shabab 1-0 in the third round of Bahrain Viva First Division League last night.

It was East Riffa’s first victory of the season after two defeats against Manama and Riffa.

Malkiya went ahead in the 42nd minute through a goal from Ahmed Yousif.

But East Riffa hit back in the second-half with a 64th minute goal from Faisal Bu Dahoom.

Eight minutes later East Riffa added the second with Mohammed Al Rumaihi finding the target.

In the other match at Bahrain National Stadium, Riffa continued their winning streak with a third straight victory.

Riffa are on nine points and top of the table.

The all-important goal was scored by Jordanian striker Abdulla Dheeb in the 17th minute.

Clash

Meanwhile, two top matches are scheduled for tonight. Manama will clash with Busaiteen at 6.30pm at Khalifa Sports City Stadium while Muharraq and Al Hidd battle it out at the same time at Bahrain National Stadium.
Manama, coached by Tunisian Sameer bin Shammam, are on six points while Busaiteen are on one point. Muharraq and Al Hidd are on six points each.
