Manama-May-29(BNA) Egyptian Shura Council Speaker Dr. Ahmed Fahmi today rejected any Iranian interference in the highly-strategic Arabian Gulf region, being the western gate to the Arab World.
“Egypt will never tolerate any attempt to subvert the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf Region and Bahrain”, he said as he addressed the Egyptian expatriate community at his country’s embassy.
He said that he discussed with Egyptian Minister of Tourism the expected revenues in case Iranian tourists are allowed to visit Egypt, stressed that his country would never compromise the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf region in exchange for anything.
Regarding the Conference of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, he stressed the recommendation affirming Bahrain’s security.
“All the participants endorsed the proposal, rejection Iranian threats against any Arabian Gulf country, particularly Bahrain”, he said, describing the interference of Iran and Hizbullah in Syria as being illegal.
He said that any Iranian-Egyptian relations would not to the detriment of the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf states and Bahrain.
He pointed out that he discussed with His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa strong historic relations bonding Bahrain and Egypt.
