Southam, Warwickshire, UK – Tuesday, 12th August – Video game developer and publisher Codemasters today released the first hot lap preview video for F1 2014 featuring Fernando Alonso’s Turbocharged Ferrari Formula One Racer.
The hot lap is the first chance for fans to hear how this year’s radically different turbocharged cars are brought to life in the game, including the distinctive deeper growl produced by this year’s new power units.
The preview video embedded above features Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari taking on the 15 corner, 10 year-old Bahrain International Circuit dramatically lit up by hundreds of floodlights and against a striking backdrop of fireworks.
The 2014 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix was run as a night race for the first time this year, and the hot lap video shows off the depth and intensity of circuit-racing and Bahrain’s debut as a night race.
Featuring full day / night transition, alongside the return of the Hockenheimring and the debut of two new circuits – Russia’s Sochi Autodrom and Austria’s Spielberg circuit – the changes to Bahrain International Circuit is just one of the many circuit changes for this year’s game.
The most recent Game On review for the celebrated F1 racing simulation game series is 2009s F1 for Nintendo’s Wii – should provide a brief notion of the game series. That’ll have to do until we have an opportunity to review this year’s sequel for Xbox 360.
F1 2014 – the direct sequel to F1 2013 – will arrive on October 17th for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Windows PC, and Sony’s PlayStation 3 games console.
Development of F1 2014 is complemented by the official announcement and confirmation of the next game in the series – F1 2015 – which is being developed for Microsoft’s Windows PC and the Xbox One as well as Sony’s PlayStation 4 Next Gen consoles.
Codemasters is expected to announced additional production and feature news for both titles in the coming weeks and months; fans can follow Codemasters F1 games blog and social channels on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
