Fifteen school clubs set to open in August

Manama-July18(BNA)Fifteen school clubs are set to open on August 3 across Bahrain as part of a rich and activity-packed summer educational and entertainment programme.
“The recreational scheme will benefit government primary students in addition to private school students”, Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi said as he hosted his Ramadan majlis. Ministers, senior state officials, diplomats, businessmen, media figures and journalists attended.
The minister operated thirteen school clubs last year for intermediate students, who benefited from remedial lessons in Arabic, math, science, English and French, in addition a variety of activities which included carpentry, ceramics, sports, computer, painting, handicraft and voluntary work.
The summer entertainment programme also featured recreational and cultural excursions, lectures, voluntary work, environment-related activities, competitions, festivals, electronic and robotics training courses
The minister pointed out the role of school clubs in fostering the values of citizenship through fields visits to major establishments that serve the nation, pointing out that a group of specialists and teachers had been training to be in charge of conducting the activities.
