FM: Islamic alliance reflects Bahrain’s anti-terror policy

Manama, Dec.15 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa stated that the joining of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Saudi-led Islamic military alliance to fight terrorism embodies His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa’s policy in exerting every effort to safeguard security and stability of the societies and nations and consistent with the unwavering position of Bahrain that rejects terrorism regardless of its justification or the mastermind behind it, as well as its cooperation and solidarity with any effort to eradicate and ultimately defeat terrorism threats and uproots its causes.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the new military alliance is a strategic step that launching a new crucial and decisive phase in the fight against terrorism in all forms and helps in concerted coordination to secure logistic support for military operations to contain terrorism, and effective counterterrorism at all levels, as well as enhancing opportunities of its elimination.

The Foreign Minister stated that the formation of this alliance is a continuation of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on both regional and international levels and illustrates its prominent leadership role in facing all Islamic nation’s challenges with wisdom and efficiency in order to achieve security and stability to preserve peace across the region and all over the world.

Shaikh Khalid urged all Islamic countries to join the new military alliance which becomes a dire need after the culmination of the terrorism threat which necessitates collective and integrated efforts in order to combat terrorism and uproot it wherever it is. (MOFA)
