Manama, Nov. 6 (BNA)— Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa hailed the key role of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), under the chairmanship of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in the development and success of the youth and sport movement in Bahrain.
He was speaking at a meeting today with SCYS Secretary General, First Vice-President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and President of Bahrain Football Federation Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
The Foreign Minister lauded cooperation with SCYS and discussed ways of benefiting from agreements signed by Bahrain and brotherly countries in the youth and sport field.
He said this was in view of the importance of this vital sector in achieving the supreme goals of Bahrain and reflects the outstanding image the Bahraini youth have achieved in all fields.

Shaikh Salman presented a detailed account on the ongoing preparations in Bahrain to host the GCC Cup (Khaleeji 21) next January and steps taken to ensure a successful participation of Bahrain national football squad.

In this context, The Foreign Minister underlined the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to contribute to the success of Bahrain in hosting this Gulf tournament which, he said, is part of GCC joint work.
