Foreign minister lauds ties with several countries

Manama, Nov. 1 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, hailed the outcome of the excellent cooperation ties with the Republic of Singapore, which stand for an exemplary model in relations among friendly countries.
This came as the Minister met the Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Defence Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, on the sidelines of the 11th Session of Manama Dialogue.

The Minister affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to constantly communicate with the republic of Singapore which has managed to make numerous achievements in the field of development until it has become an influential economic power and a pioneering model worth emulating.

The Minister pointed out that bilateral relations would witness a tremendous boost in the upcoming period in the light of the common keenness to further bolster them and their intent to intensify visits among senior officials as well as commitment to openness to all world countries and endeavors to achieve higher growth levels.

For his part Dr. Mohamad hailed the development and progress made in the Kingdom of Bahrain in all fields affirming his country’s keen desire to expand the horizons of bilateral cooperation ties between the two friendly countries. For the benefit of both sides

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, also met with the Minister of Interior and Municipalities of the Republic of Lebanon, Nihad Al-Mashnooq, and reviewed with him bilateral relations and ways of bolstering them for the benefit of the two brotherly countries.

The Minister affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain was always seeking to strengthen its ties with the Brotherly Republic of Lebanon.

Mr. Al Mashnooq affirmed his country’s keenness to underpin its ties with the kingdom of Bahrain at all levels, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

During his meeting with the Defence Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ursula von der Leyen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, took pride in the ever-growing bilateral ties in all fields, affirming that the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Federal Republic of Germany are well-founded and capable of further progressing towards broader horizons to meet the aspirations of the friendly peoples of the two friendly countries.

The Minister also hailed the level of bilateral cooperation vis-à-vis all issues and the positive role being played by the Federal Republic of Germany for the sake of regional stability and security as well as its cooperation with the sates of the regions and the efforts it exerts to solve regional problems and challenges.

For her part, the Defence Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ursula von der Leyen, expressed her country’s keenness to propel its relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain to broader levels for common benefits.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with the Deputy National Security Advisor of the Republic of India, Dr. Arvind Gupta, and exchanged with him viewpoints on how to bolster bilateral ties in all domains, particularly in areas like economy, fight against terrorism and extremism and coordination with regard to various issues.

The Minister noted that the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India are diversified and of growing significance thanks to common keenness to further develop them for mutual benefit and best exploitation of available potentials.

In his turn, the Deputy National Security Advisor of the Republic of India, Dr. Arvind Gupta, said his country accords high importance to the consolidation and development of its ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as to reinforcing the coordination of stances at international gatherings.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed a number of regional and global issues of common concern.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, reiterated the unflinching stance of the Kingdom of Bahrain to help bring about peace and stability to all the territories of the brotherly Yemen and protect its territorial integrity and empowering the legitimate government to carry out its duties for further development of prosperity of the brotherly Yemenis and in support for all the initiative aimed to achieve the same goals.

This came as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, held a meeting with The UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, during which they discussed the latest developments in Yemen and where the UN Envoy briefed his Excellency the Minister on the latest efforts exerted by the United Nations with regard to the situation in Yemen.
