Foreign minister praises strong ties with European Union

New York, Sept. 27 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, affirmed the strong ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and countries of the European union, which are based on clear and solid foundations, most importantly on efforts to achieve joint interests, continued consultation and coordination on regional and international issues and keenness to bolster strategic partnership relations between the two sides.


This came during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly being held in New York, USA.

They discussed means to bolster ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the EU to advanced levels in all fields and enhancing their cooperation for the benefit of joint interests as well as regional security and stability.

The meeting also focused on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
