Foreign Ministry summons Lebanese chargé d’affaires

Manama, Sept. 26 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary, Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, has affirmed that the recent statements by Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah, are a blatant interference in the internal affairs and a clear infringement on the sovereignty and independence of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and carry a flawed and biased description of the situation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, aimed to damage relations between brothers.

This came as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon to the Kingdom, Ibrahim Elias Assaf, and presented him with an official memorandum of protest in regards to those statements.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary called on the Republic of Lebanon to speed up taking all deterrent legal actions and decisive measures about such remarks that are harmful to the relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and ensure the immediate and unequivocal cessation of all forms of interference in Bahraini internal affairs especially since the terrorist party is a partner in the Lebanese government.

He stressed that the Kingdom Bahrain will take all that would protect its interests, preserve its security and stability and ensure the safety of its people.
