Manama, Sept. 20. (BNA) – In line with its continuous support for the sports and youth sector and assistance for youths in order to develop their skills, upgrade their competence and prepare them for regional and international competitions, the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) announced its sponsorship of the upcoming Khalid bin Hamad Futsal Cup, organised by the Bahrain Football Association at the Khalifa Sports Hall from October 28 to November 2, 2013.
On the occasion, President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Adviser to HRH Premier for Industrial and Oil Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GPIC Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and GPIC President Abdulrahman Jawahery for GPIC’s support for all sports functions, events and competitions organised by BFA, noting that that support will motivate BFA to put forward more plans and programmes to consolidate its achievements over the past seasons.
He praised GPIC’s growing interest in the youth and sports sector’s functions, which, he said, will boost the youth and sports movement in the kingdom.
He invited all companies and institutions to continue providing support for BFA’s competitions in order improve youths’ skills and help them make optimum advantage of their free time.
On his part, GPIC President said GPIC’s sponsorship of the event is in line with its interest to support the youth and sports movement and develop the football game in the kingdom.
He praised Shaikh bin Hamad’s support for the sports sector and constant follow-up of youth and sport-related activities, which, he affirmed, has contributed to the success of Bahrain national teams in various sports gatherings inside and outside Bahrain, adding that his patronage of the event will add value to it and motivate players to do well in order to win the prestigious title.
He also lauded the outstanding efforts of BFA, led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, to create a positive environment for youths to practise sports.
The competition is set to feature eight teams.
