Gulf Air increases Jeddah frequencies to triple daily

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has added seven extra flights weekly to and from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, increasing capacity on the route by over 30 percent to meet a growing market demand. The airline will now operate one extra frequency daily increasing its scheduled flights to three per day to the key city in the Kingdom.
Starting from July 9, Gulf Air will increase its frequency from 14 to 21 flights per week each direction. The extra flights offer more flexibility for Bahrain and Saudi-based business and leisure travelers and more flights for pilgrims who now have more choices to visit the holy city of Makkah via Jeddah.
Gulf Air acting CEO Maher Salman Al-Musallam said: “I would like to thank GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation), specifically its President Prince Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Saud, and its VP Faisal Al-Sugair and his colleagues for their cooperation in approving the additional frequencies. The introduction of additional flights between Jeddah and Bahrain reinforces the importance of the Kingdom as a key longstanding market for Gulf Air and is aligned to the airline’s business strategy to concentrate on high-demand routes to ensure its primary customer base is served effectively and efficiently.”
He added: “As part of Gulf Air’s restructuring strategy, the airline is committed to strengthening its core services specifically its regional network; Gulf Air operates one of the largest networks in the region. Gulf Air is proactively looking for opportunities to strengthen its network through increasing frequencies, enhancing existing code share relationships and developing others. We are in the final stages of negotiations to increase frequencies to a number of key destinations in order to offer more convenient travel options to our customers.”
