Hajji Hassan Group nets $1mn Bahrain road work

Bahrain’s Hajji Hassan Group has been awarded a BD398,120 ($1.05mn) contract for the Ezil Avenue revamp project.

The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Urban Planning  project involves creating a 1,400m one-way road at each direction; extending from Avenue 38 at the West towards the East (parallel to Wali Al Ahad Avenue).

The project also includes paving works, implementing pavements on both sides of the road using a special kind of brick that provides a safe path for pedestrians, lighting, implementing a storm water drainage network, implementing ground channels for the use of other service entities, signage and other safety related works.

Work is scheduled to take 30 weeks to complete starting this month.

Director of Roads Projects Maintenance Directorate, Raed Mohammed Al-Salah, said: “The Ministry of Works requestS citizens and road users to cooperate with the Ministry and the project contractor. Also, the Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience likely to result from road development works.”
