Health awareness lecture presented

Manama, Aug. 27 (BNA): The Abdulrahman Kanoo Cultural Centre hosted a health awareness lecture themed “Facts about Multiple-sclerosis Disease” presented by Dr. Dhiya Al Fahdawi.
The Chairman of Bahrain’s Multiple-Sclerosis Patients Society (MSPS), Abdullah Bucheeri, said the disease erodes central nervous system and surrounding membrane resulting in slow limb motion and complications in the human neuro cells, immobility, inarticulateness, imbalance, amnesia and depression.

MS cases recorded in Bahrain did not exceed 10 until the late1980s. The figure currently stands at 500 MS patients that is 5 cases per 10,000 population.
