Hi-tech cinema opens in Seef Mall

Manama: A new cinema that redefines the future of  entertainment experience with cutting-edge technology was launched in Seef Mall Muharraq.

The long-awaited IMAX cinema has been brought to the country by Emirati company Novo Cinema, which has already opened theatres in the UAE and Qatar.

Officials said yesterday it will feature 14 screens and a capacity of over 1,300 seats that boasts Bahrain’s first IMAX theatre.

Cinema goers can enjoy reclining leather seats, individual iPads for easy ordering, a dedicated chef and butler service.

“We are very proud to bring a premium cinema experience to the Kingdom of Bahrain. 

“Novo Cinemas enjoys a long legacy of innovation and pioneering technologies in the region, and we are thrilled to be launching our flagship at the exciting new shopping and entertainment destination, Seef Mall Muharraq,” said Novo Cinemas chief executive officer Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen.

IMAX is a motion picture film format and a set of cinema projection standards known for its large screens and high-definition projection.
