Manama, Dec.6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today hailed the role of the Sunni Endowments Council (SEC) in taking care of mosques and preparing preachers – Imams and Khateebs – to spread the culture of tolerance and fraternity and focus the religious discourse on national unity and development achievements.

This came as he received at Al-Safriya Palace SEC Chairman Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa who presented a collection of books which were published by the Sunni Endowments Board. HM the King commended the SEC-led efforts to develop endowments in Bahrain in order to serve society and citizens.

Following the meeting, Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa outlined the SEC investments which, he said, contribute to Bahrain’s economic development. He pointed out that the first booklet details the endowment investment projects (2010-2014) which totaled BD20 million. As for the second booklet, it highlights efforts to promote national belonging and intellectual stability.
