HM the King attends a Gala Dinner hosted by Prince Al-Waleed in Paris

Paris, Sept. 1. (BNA) – During his recent visit to France, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attended a gala dinner hosted in his honour by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) at The Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris.

HM King Hamad was accompanied by his sons Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Alkhalifa, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The attendees also included HRH Prince Khalid bin Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, Nada Al Sugair, Executive Director Finance and Administration, Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Amani Alqahtani, Assistant Executive Manager for HRH’s Private Facilities, Hassna Al Turki, Department Head Travel External Affairs, Hassan Mukhtar, HRH Private Office, Manal Al Shammary, Manager, Protocol Department, Hani Agha, Senior Manager Travel External Affairs, Naief Alzuhair, Website and Social Media Manager, Corporate Communications and Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

Fahad Al-Orabi Al-Harethi, Idris Al-Idris and senior guests also attended.

Recently, Prince Al Waleed attended the Formula 1 Race that took place at the Bahrain International Circuit with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

HRH the Crown Prince thanked Prince Al Waleed for attending the race.


Prince Alwaleed also attended the 22nd Annual Heritage Festival, along with the Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.

He also visited Rotana media offices and Al-Arab News Channel headquarters that is owned by HRH at the Bahrain World Trade Centre. His Highness was received by State Minister for Information Affairs Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab and the Information Affairs Authority President Ali Mohammed Al Rumaihi.

Prince Al-Waleed met Al-Arab and Rotana management teams who briefed HRH on the latest developments at their respective entities.


Al-Arab is a 24-hour channel which will target Arabic-speaking viewers across the Arab world and beyond. It is an independent venture from Kingdom Holding Company and the Rotana Group and is privately owned by Prince Alwaleed.

Prince Alwaleed also announced an agreement with Bloomberg LP in which Bloomberg will support the creation of five-hours of financial and economic news programming throughout the day on the channel.

KHC’s presence in Bahrain is through its indirect investments in the banking sector through Citigroup which has been operating in Manama for the past 40 years, and in the hotels sector through the M?venpick Hotel in Bahrain that is managed by M?venpick Hotels and Resorts in which KHC owns a 33.3% stake.

In addition, the Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain will be opening soon. It is managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in which KHC holds a 47.5% stake and is co-owned by Bill Gates’ Cascade in which the company also holds a 47.5% stake, and 5% of the Four Seasons is owned by Isadore Sharp, the Company’s Chairman. In addition, the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel in Manama will take place in the near future.
