London-June22(BNA)Bahrain made history winning Wokingham Stakes race for the time ever as part of the Royal Ascot Festival, being held in London, Britain. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al-Khalifa presented the victory to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth attended the event. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al-Khalifa paid tribute to HM the King for promoting the equestrian sport.
Owners of the victorious Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al-Khalifa expressed their delight at the sport achievement. They hailed the victory of their horse York Glory and its jockey Jamie Spencer in the annual global sporting event as an excellent Bahraini equestrian performance.
They paid tribute to Royal Endurance Team Captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for their efforts to promote Bahrain on the map of equestrian and endurance sport in the world. The Royal Ascot Horse Racing Festival which is held annually at Ascot in Berkshire is one of the most prominent championships in the world.
